Basic Sewing Classes
At Fox Sewing Machines we have decided due to popular demand to hold in-house basic sewing classes. we would like to start our classes with an introduction on maintaining your sewing machine. We feel that if you brought your own sewing machine along we can help you to work with your machine. We will then go onto making basic pockets, bags with zips, buttonholes to makeing effective garments with various techniques. We are currently working along side a designer which has given us Fox Sewing Machines an insight to various techniques which we will incorporate into our classes.
Our classes will be held at Fox Sewing Machines on Saturday 12-3pm twice a month starting fromFebruary 2010:-
February 13th and 27th
How to maintain your own sewing machine,how to sew a straight stitch,Zig zag and decorative stitch on paper then fabric. How to sew a pocket
March 13th and 27
Making pockets and a bag by using buttonhole bar tacking,bag handles and zips.
April 10th and 24th
How to make a simple skirt from a pattern and incorporating zips, buttonholes, pockets and bar tacking.
May 8th and 26th
How to make a cushion with zips, buttonholes,flaps and using trimmings.
June 12th and 26th
How to make curtains with lining, fabric hoops and curtain tape.
July 10th and 24th
